Must Have Items for Travel to the Middle East

I understand the importance of having the right gear and accessories when traveling, especially to the Middle East. There are certain items that you should have to make your trip comfortable and memorable. Let's discuss some of the best items to have when traveling to the Middle East.

1. A lightweight Travel Backpack

A lightweight travel backpack is a must-have item for any traveler. It is perfect for carrying all your essentials, including your passport, wallet, camera, and other gadgets. This Travel Backpack is an excellent choice for Middle East travel. It’s lightweight, durable, and has plenty of space for your belongings. You can attach it to your carry on suitcase and it has a slot for your phone charger as well.

2. Portable Charger / Power Bank

When traveling to the Middle East, you’ll need a portable charger to keep your devices charged. This 40.000mAh power bank is a great choice because it can even charge your laptop! You can get multiple charges or charge 4 devices at once. We find having a power bank so valuable in the Middle East especially if you go on desert adventures where there is no electricity to charge your devices. I would buy a minimum of 20,000 mAh.

3. Travel Adaptor

The Middle East uses a different type of electrical outlet than most other countries, so a travel adapter is a must-have item. This Epicka Universal Travel Adaptor comes with several options, making it perfect for traveler’s who visit different countries.

4. Comfortable Shoes

The Middle East is known for its warm weather, and you’ll be doing a lot of walking. Having comfortable shoes is essential. Also consider you may be doing hikes in water or the desert and want a sandle. My favourite is Teva.  Also my other go to are these combat boots as a good all arounder for the desert and different terrains. I have gone through probably 5 of these already. So they may not last forever, but I found myself opting for these more than my very expensive hiking boots. But keep in mind, you are probably visiting for a short time, not spending months in the desert like me so one pair is enough for you! You don’t need it to last years in the desert. Usually I am always wearing one of those two personally. Otherwise some good sneakers are always a good bet too.

5. Travel Pillow

Long flights to the Middle East can be tiring, and having a travel pillow can help make the journey more comfortable. You may also end up in situations where you need a pillow like camping in the desert or unexpected adventures. How cool is this travel “pillow” invention where you stuff it with clothes to avoid excess luggage fees! Two birds one stone.

6. Sun Protection

The Middle East is known for its hot weather, and you’ll need to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays. The EltaMD UV Clear is at the top of most lists for best sunscreen and has some great protection for those desert sun rays.

7. Water Bottle

Staying hydrated is important when traveling, especially in the Middle East. But you know what is super annoying about traveling with a water bottle? It has to be empty when you go through security but its still taking up so much space empty. This Nefeeko Collapsable Water Bottle will save you a lot of space when its empty.

8. Packing Cubes

Packing cubes can help keep your luggage organized and make it easier to find items in your suitcase. This has been an absolute life saver for me living out of a suitcase traveling for extended time periods or even short trips. Rather than fishing through one big pile of stuff, I know exactly what is in which cube and can access it easily. And with over 10k purchases in the last month alone, its clear many agree that These are an absolute must!

9. Sun Protection Hoodie Shirt UPF 50+ Long Sleeve

I came across these and wish I had known about them years ago! These are PERFECT for the desert. light and cool. Sun protection and a quick and easy built in neck and face cover. I can’t tell you how much easier life would have been if I discovered these earlier! They can be used my men or women. These are an absolute must!
